- 600g (1.3 lbs) canned garbanzo beans, washed and dried
- 2 tbsp. tahini (sesame paste)
- 20ml (0.6 fl. oz) lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, cut in 4
- 60ml (2 fl. oz.) water
- 125ml (4.3 fl. oz.) olive oil
- 2 tbsp. za'atar
- Mix the garbanzo beans with the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, water and olive oil until soft.
- Place the hummus on a plate and make a well in the center. Pour in olive oil and za'atar.
- Serve with carrot sticks.
